Multiple Offers Are Rare… Please, Be Collaborative and Decisive

by Jason Nemoy

For those that are in transition, the ultimate prize for our journey might include an offer. But what if you receive multiple offers? Yes, 1+. It’s rare, but it happens… and I’ve actually (unfortunately) seen candidates screw it all up and lose them all. Quick story: A colleague of mine recently received 2 offers (within 48 hours) and tried to negotiate them against each other, only to drag things out by a couple of days and upset a lot of people. So my two cents… quickly collaborate with someone in your network to guide you through your decision. Sound guidance and direction is really key at this point. It’s not always about the money. Carefully evaluate, decide, be confident (and excited!) and move forward. Be creative.
