Meet Julie East, Executive HR Consultant & Leadership Coach – HR Solutions
Although born in Athens, Ohio, Julie spent most of her childhood in Stillwater, Oklahoma, a lively college town and home to the OSU Cowboys, where her father was a professor and department head.
After growing up in Oklahoma, Julie moved to San Francisco, where she began working for Gap Inc. She started her journey as a store manager before transitioning to the corporate office in the Learning and Development Department. This marked the start of a long and exciting career with Gap Inc., where she held various HR Specialist and Generalist positions. Later, Julie relocated to Maryland with Gap Inc. for an HR Generalist role, and has lived in Maryland for 20 years, making it her home.
Since retiring from corporate life, Julie has been focused on building her network and exploring opportunities in HR consulting, facilitating training and strategy sessions, and executive coaching. She finds immense joy in these areas, particularly in public speaking engagements, and looks forward to continuing to develop professionally.
Julie joined Chesapeake Search Partners through her long-time friend and colleague, Jason Nemoy. After starting her executive coaching and HR consulting business, it made sense for her to closely align with Chesapeake HR Solutions. She is thrilled to be part of a growing business and enjoys the quality clients who come to CSP and CHRS.
As an HR Consultant, Julie understands small businesses’ challenges in deciding if and when to hire an HR professional. She offers fractional HR support and consulting as an excellent alternative for companies needing a fresh perspective. Through this process, business leaders often recognize the value of executive coaching, a journey she is always eager to start with her clients.
Julie enjoys spending time in the garden during the spring and summer. Her husband, a master gardener, grows a variety of vegetables from seeds, which they often share with friends and neighbors. In her free time, Julie enjoys reading about history and visiting museums and historic sites locally and internationally. She has a deep ancestral connection to Ireland, making it one of her favorite travel destinations.
